Moss-powered lamp from Cambridge University.
We all learn in grade school that plants create food and energy via photosynthesis. Scientists at Cambridge University are taking the fact several steps further by creating concept designs of gadgets powered by photosynthetic plants. These range in scale from the lamp shown above to “masts” of fast-growing algae, which may supplement solar power in 10 years. Talk about green energy. Literally.
To be displayed at London Design Week in late September.
